I began illustrating cards (not so seriously) as soon as I could draw. Every year I’d ask my Dad what he wanted for his birthday. It was always the same answer, a handmade card.
Despite it being a relatively inexpensive gift, I came to realise the great value in a simple greeting card at a young age.
After completing my degree at RMIT University, Communication Design, I returned home to Hobart, Tasmania to take up a studio Residency at the Salamanca Arts Centre. Here, I began working as a freelance Illustrator with the odd hospitality shift to help keep the “dream” alive. Some of my major clients so far have included work for Target, Nab Bank and most recently, Cotton On.
After holding a successful Pop Up Shop in July 2015, I decided it was time to start taking the cards more seriously. It is such a cool feeling knowing that through a simple scribble you have the ability to make people smile, or better yet, laugh out loud (aka lol)
Eloise Lark Cards are essentially about making people smile. Working with a bit of humour, a bit of cute and a lot of cheek!
