About the Artist

Jennifer Tyers

Jennifer Tyers grew up in the north west coast Tasmania on a small farm. Jennifer went to the Tasmanian University School of Art and then much later after that she traveled to Singapore and lived there and lived in Malaysia, spending time in Sarawak and Chiang Mai briefly before heading back to Australia, where she currently still lives, in Brisbane. Jennifer feels passionate about animals and the environment. She has had a children's book published called 'When it is Night' and a graphic comic called 'Bear Hour.' Jennifer makes artists books and exhibits her paintings regularly in Australia and overseas. The Cardly series of cards showcases her illustration style. The Nordic Series are a small series of watercolour paintings inspired by nordic noir TV, snow, fairisle jumpers, seals, moustaches and icebergs. The Tasmanian Animals series came through her love of animals, particularly Tasmanian animals, although several of these creatures are also found in other parts of Australia.
