What drives us?
Greeting cards have been around for a long time and are a pretty ingrained part of society. For many of us, there is no better way to show our friends and family how much we care.
I have done lots of different things in my career. I’ve worked in technology and retail and spent a lot of time trying to convince people to buy things that they probably didn’t need.
Cardly is different.
We help people connect in meaningful ways and that is a great thing. We help people celebrate love, birth, birthdays and more. That makes us feel good. To know that we’re helping people stay connected and express how they feel to one another is awesome.
It’s not saving lives, but it probably helps bring some smiles, laughs and happiness to people. Something real. And that is a big part of what drives us and why we wanted to use technology, but still create something real in a world where there is so much digital overload; billions of mindless tweets (especially those from Donald Trump), status updates and way too much email. Greeting cards are different. They’re physical, tactile and incredibly expressive.
We are also very lucky to work with a select group of amazing independent artists that create gorgeous, quirky and funny art that help express so much more than can be said with words alone.
